Fifth Annual Margaret Walters Paint Out

Call for Artists:

Carnegie Picture Lab invites artists to participate in The Fifth Annual Margaret Walters Paint Out, September 11 - 15, 2017. Twenty-five artists will have the opportunity to paint "en plein aire" for four days at picturesque locations in the Walla Walla Valley.   Due to popular demand, the planning committee has added several dates for spring painting, May 22nd @ Garrison Creek Cellars/Les Collines Vineyard and May 23rd @ Leonetti Cellars.  We will also be painting at the lavender farm on June 19th along with Green Valley Nursery on July 18th.

An artists reception and public sale of work created during the week will bring the event to a close Friday evening, September 15, 2017. 

With support from Art Walla, Carnegie Picture Lab sponsors the week of painting.  A portion of proceeds from the art sale will benefit the Picture Lab, a non-profit organization that provides art education for elementary-school children in the Walla Walla Valley. Picture Lab's work in the schools is supported by donations from community businesses, organizations, trusts, foundations and individual donors.

During the 2016-17 school year 3,900 K-5 students received classroom instruction, taught by 80 volunteers. Twenty different organizations partner with Picture Lab to bring art and creativity into the schools.
